M. P. Shah Medical College is a premier, historic public State Government Medical College located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. It was established in 1954 by the Government of Bombay (now Gujarat), largely through the philanthropy of Shri Meghji Pethraj Shah, to expand medical education and tertiary healthcare services in the Saurashtra and Kachchh regions.
The college is academically affiliated with Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. (It was previously affiliated with Saurashtra University, but this affiliation was transferred). MPSMC follows the curriculum and examination schedule set by Gujarat University, which awards the final degrees (MBBS, MD/MS).
