Established in 1982, the University of Molise (UNIMOL) launched its medical faculty in 2006. In 2014, the department was named after Vincenzo Tiberio, the Italian physician and researcher who discovered the antibacterial properties of molds decades before Alexander Fleming. Located in Campobasso, the school is known for its human-scale environment, modern facilities, and a strong focus on Geriatrics and Medicine for Aging. As a public university, it provides an affordable but academically rigorous path, with degrees fully recognized by the WFME/ECFMG for international practice.
The medical department is centered around a modern "Polifunzionale" hub in the Vazzieri district of Campobasso.
