• The University Hospital Regensburg (UKR) is a maximum-care provider for the entire East Bavarian region:
• Capacity: Roughly 840 beds and over 28 specialized clinics and institutes.
• Clinical Volume: Treats approximately 36,000 inpatients and 150,000 outpatients annually.
• Specialization: Regensburg is the only center in Bavaria offering pediatric liver transplantation. It is also a leader in robotic surgery and minimally invasive techniques.
• Staff: Over 4,900 employees, making it one of the largest employers in the region.

Regensburg is a public university. There are currently no tuition fees for the primary medical degree for either EU or non-EU students.

• APS Certificate: Mandatory for applicants from India, China, and Vietnam.
• HZB Requirement: International students often need a "direct HZB" or must attend a Studienkolleg (M-Course) if their high school diploma is not considered equivalent to the Abitur.
• Deadline: July 15 for the Winter Semester (the main intake for Human Medicine).
