The Salzburg campus is a "Center of Excellence" that integrates academic learning with high-level clinical research facilities.

• Haus C (Main Building): Features the Jörg Rehn Auditorium and state-of-the-art multimedia lecture halls.
• University Center for Anatomy: A premier facility for cadaveric dissection and morphological research.
• Clinical Simulation Center: Used for interprofessional training where medical, nursing, and pharmacy students practice together on high-fidelity patient simulators.

The clinical training is closely intertwined with the Salzburg University Hospital (Landeskrankenhaus) and other specialized centers.

• Salzburg University Hospital: The primary teaching hospital with 21 university institutes providing 24/7 high-complexity care.
• Nuremberg Hospital (Klinikum Nürnberg): PMU's major partner in Germany, where students may also complete clinical cycles.
• Research Clusters: Specialized focus on Neuroscience, Immunology, Gastroenterology, and Metabolic Diseases.
• Clinical Year: The 5th year is a Clinical Practical Year (KPJ) where students are fully integrated into hospital teams.

As a private institution, PMU has a higher tuition fee compared to public Austrian universities, but it offers a fixed educational contract.

Scholarships

• Financial Aid Scholarships: Awarded based on social criteria and household income using the OECD formula.
• Merit-Based Scholarships: Awarded annually to top-performing students in each class (typically €750 to €1,500).
• Brain Capital Education Fund: A "Study Now, Pay Later" model where tuition is covered by the fund and repaid as a percentage of income after graduation.
• Research Grants: Scholarship recipients in the 4th year can receive up to €1,500 for research stays overseas.

• Latin Requirement: 10 hours of Latin are required. If not completed in high school, it must be finished by the end of the first year at PMU.
• Professional Field Exploration: A mandatory 4-week internship in a healthcare setting (hospital, nursing home, etc.) must be completed before starting studies.
• USMLE Support: PMU provides specific grants and support for students wishing to take the US Medical Licensing Exams to practice in the USA.
