Altamimi International University is one of the newer private medical schools in Bishkek. Bishkek is Kyrgyzstan's capital. The school began in 2019. It is registered with the Kyrgyz Republic's Ministry of Justice. Its address sits on Chuy Avenue, in the city centre. The school also goes by a second name in its own papers: Altamimi Bachelor Clinical University. Some materials shorten this further, to ABC Academy. This kind of name shift is worth flagging upfront. One steady name makes a school easier to track and check, over time. Several names make that same task genuinely harder, for anyone checking from outside.

The university's own materials make a big claim. More than eight graduating batches have passed through the school since it began. Graduates reportedly now work in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tajikistan, Nigeria, and Afghanistan. The school says these graduates cleared their home country's licensing exams first. It names NEB/NLE, MCI/NExT, MDCN, USMLE, and PLAB directly. If true, this would mark a genuinely wide spread of outcomes. It would span many countries, in just six or seven years. Still, this claim comes from the university's own page. It does not come from an outside tracking source. This profile could not check specific pass rates. It could not check job numbers either, through other, unrelated reports.

About how the school is set up, Altamimi says that clinical teaching takes place in two places. One is Bishkek itself. The other is Ala-Archa, a neighborhood on the edge of the city. The school says that many medical schools and science centers run by Republicans serve as clinical bases for its students. The English-language medicine show is on. It has the now-familiar shape of the area. The years of science come first. After that come clinical experiences. Still, this profile couldn't find any specific, year-by-year course plans that were not on the school's website.

On its own page, the university makes a number of claims about reputation. The World Health Organization, the Avicenna, and FAIMER all list it as a place to be. It says on its Facebook page that it has been recognized by WHO, ECFMG, AMC, ACGME, BMDC, NMC, and PMDC. If these claims are true, they're pretty big. All of these would affect the licensing lines in the US, UK, Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan at the same time. But here's the real catch. These claims were mostly found on the university's website, Facebook page, and other pages that are closely related to the school. That they were real wasn't found in WHO's public Directory or ECFMG's own separate school database. That doesn't mean the claims aren't true. It means that they haven't been checked by a separate, outside source yet. This is not the same as BIMI or ISM-IUK. In the beginning of this series, different outside sources backed up what they said.

One more thing needs to be brought up right away. Papers from the university show that it has more approval from groups called "EdNet" and "AAOPO." This profile could not find a medical education body with either name that matches as a known, real, international authority. They are not the same thing as WFME, CAAMHP, LCME, and CACMS, which people are familiar with because they appear in other books in this series. The prices here are probably about the same as at ISM-IUK, BIMI, and Adam University. Still, this is just a guess based on how prices work in that area. Now, be fair and compare Altamimi to the other Kyrgyz schools in this list. The low cost of living in Bishkek would be its main real plus. A second plus would be a wide range of outcomes for graduates in many countries. If its claims can be checked, then this is true. The main question that still needs to be answered is how thorough and independent its proof of approval really is. For some of its named accrediting bodies, this is true. It also means how much of its story is based on its own words and how much is based on proof from outside sources. Altamimi is not the same as ISM-IUK, BIMI, or Adam University because of this. All three of those schools had claims backed up by real, different outside sources when this profile was being written. These kinds of outside checks were much harder to find for Altamimi.

For a family thinking about this school, it's important to know what this means in real life. It doesn't mean Altamimi is a fake. That doesn't mean its claims aren't true, though. There are many real medical schools that don't have as much public information as a larger, more well-known school. Most of the time, this is true in Kyrgyzstan. There isn't a lot of outside press or independent reporting on private colleges. But here's what it does mean.
