The Fergana Higher Pedagogical Institute was established through the resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of Uzbekistan dated MAY 1, 1930.

On March 1, 1991, by a Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Fergana Pedagogical Institute was granted university status and transformed into Fergana State University

Fergana State University carries out its activities in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "on Education" No. ORQ-637 dated September 23, 2020. There are 11 dormitories and 13 educational buildings on the university campus, and more than 27,000 students are enrolled here.
