JAIU can be considered by Indian students looking at Kyrgyzstan, but it is a relatively new medical faculty, having started in 2024. Students should therefore evaluate the exact programme structure, clinical exposure, internship, teaching language, fee schedule and FMGL compliance carefully before admission.
JAIU’s Medical Faculty began operating in September 2024. This is an important point for Indian students because the medical faculty is newer than many established Kyrgyzstan medical schools, so applicants should verify current infrastructure, faculty strength, hospital exposure and programme outcomes directly.
The university officially lists both structures. Its Medical Faculty page shows a 6-year General Medicine programme and a 5-year programme based on 12-year education for foreign citizens. Indian students should verify which exact programme they are being offered and whether it satisfies all applicable NMC FMGL requirements.
Indian students should not assume that a 5-year foreign medical programme automatically satisfies Indian registration requirements. NMC’s FMGL framework requires, among other conditions, a minimum 54-month medical course and English-medium instruction, along with other prescribed clinical and internship requirements. The exact JAIU programme must therefore be checked before admission.
For the 2025–26 academic year, JAIU’s official price list shows the 5-year General Medicine programme for non-CIS international students at 254,000 Kyrgyz som for the first year and 200,000 som per year for years 2–5. Students should confirm the latest 2026–27 fee before payment.
JAIU admits international students to its medical programmes, but students should confirm in writing the language used throughout lectures, practical classes, clinical rotations and internship. NMC’s FMGL framework requires English as the medium of instruction for the qualifying foreign medical course.
JAIU states that medical students can undertake practical training at its own multidisciplinary international clinic and at leading clinics in the region. Applicants should ask for the current list of affiliated hospitals and the year-wise clinical rotation schedule before admission.
NMC does not simply treat a foreign university name as a blanket approval guarantee. Indian students must verify whether the specific programme satisfies the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, including duration, subjects, English-medium instruction, clinical training and other applicable conditions.
