A lot of Bangladesh MBBS pages read like they were written by someone who's never actually looked past a fee table. Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College (KYAMC) has a backstory that's genuinely different from most of its private-college peers, and almost nobody bothers explaining it before jumping to the numbers.
The college sits in Enayetpur, Chauhali upazila, Sirajganj district about 147 km from Dhaka and roughly 22.5 km from the Jamuna Bridge that links the country's northern and southern halves. It was established in 2005, named after the Sufi saint Khwaja Yunus Ali, also known locally as Khwaja Enayetpuri, and run as part of a larger charitable trust rather than a straightforward commercial education business.
That trust structure matters more than it sounds. The teaching hospital is registered as a non-commercial venture under Bangladesh's Societies Act, and several sources describe KYAMC as the country's only ISO-certified private medical college a claim worth verifying directly with the college, but one that at least signals a different operating philosophy from the purely profit-driven private colleges dominating most comparison lists.
MBBS degrees are conferred through Rajshahi Medical University (the body formerly known as University of Rajshahi's medical wing), which also runs the professional examinations KYAMC has actually served as an examination centre for Rajshahi University's professional MBBS exams for other affiliated colleges too. Postgraduate programmes run through a separate affiliation with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka.
By 2026, the college has pushed well past its 20th MBBS batch, alongside a growing BDS programme enough institutional history that its FMGE and NExT outcomes for Indian graduates are reasonably well-documented, unlike some of the newer private colleges elsewhere in Bangladesh.
One detail that shows up inconsistently across sources and deserves a direct answer rather than a shrug: some listings describe the compulsory one-year internship as optional for Indian students, since most return to India to complete internship requirements under NMC rules instead. Don't take that as settled fact from a third-party page confirm the current internship policy directly with the college and cross-check it against current NMC India guidelines before planning around it.
Fee Breakdown — Full MBBS Course
KYAMC's total package is one of the more consistently quoted figures in this niche — most current sources land between USD 39,500 and 43,100 for the full course, a tighter range than you'll see for colleges with messier public data.
Cost Item | Amount (USD approx.) | Course Total (INR approx.) |
Tuition Fee (Course Fees) | USD ~27,000 | INR ~22,50,000 |
Accommodation (approx. USD 300/month) | USD ~18,000 total | INR ~15,00,000 |
Internship Fee | USD ~2,500 | INR ~2,08,000 |
Government Levy | USD ~1,000 | INR ~83,000 |
Food & Mess (separate) | INR 50,000–70,000/year | INR ~2,50,000–3,50,000 |
Books & Study Material | INR 12,000–18,000/year | INR ~60,000–90,000 |
Travel (India–Bangladesh) | Via Dhaka, then road to Sirajganj | INR ~30,000–50,000 total |
Donation / Capitation | None | NIL |
Total Estimated (5 yrs + internship) | $46,000 to $48,500 USD | INR ~42–46 lakh approx. |
A gap worth flagging: KYAMC's tuition and accommodation are often published as one combined figure (USD 39,500–43,100), which hides how much of that is actually board and lodging rather than academic fees. If you're comparing this college against one that lists tuition alone, you're not comparing like for like unless you separate accommodation out first.
What Most Pages Get Wrong About Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College
The ranking numbers here are a mess in a way that's almost comic. Depending on which listing you land on, KYAMC is ranked 20th nationally, or 108th, or 112th and globally you'll see 12,083rd, 12,447th, and 18,410th, all supposedly current. These come from different generic aggregator crawls that have nothing to do with medical education quality, and no two of them agree with each other. Don't let any single number here influence your decision.
Second, Sirajganj district has more than one medical college, and pages routinely blur the lines between them. Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Medical College (formerly Sirajganj Medical College) is a separate, government-run institution in the same district, affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University like KYAMC but with entirely different management, fees, and admission routes. If a fee number for KYAMC looks unusually low, there's a decent chance it's actually describing the government college instead.
Third, KYAMC is often confused with Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) a separate private university founded in 2012 by the same trust, sitting on essentially the same Enayetpur campus, but offering engineering, business, and other non-medical degrees rather than MBBS. Same founding family, same location, completely different degree programmes and admission processes. Very few pages draw this line clearly.
What deserves more attention than it gets: the trust-run, non-commercial framing of the hospital. Most Bangladesh private-college write-ups read identically regardless of whether the institution is a for-profit business or a charitable trust but that structural difference genuinely affects how a college is run day to day, and KYAMC's origin as a Sufi-trust institution is a distinguishing fact that almost nobody bothers to mention, let alone explain.

Not very. Different aggregator sites cite wildly different national and global rankings for KYAMC, none of which reflect medical-education-specific quality metrics. Treat them as noise rather than a genuine comparison point.
