New Vision University (NVU), founded in 2013 in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia, is a rapidly growing private non-profit institution that has carved out a strong reputation among international medical students in a remarkably short time. The university hosts over 5,000 students and alumni from more than 90 countries, and more than one-third of its faculty members are international — a diversity that shapes a genuinely global academic environment. The six-year Medical Doctor (MD) programme at NVU is the flagship offering for Indian and other international students. Equivalent to an MBBS degree in India, it is fully conducted in English and follows a curriculum aligned with the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) guidelines. The programme is structured around four integrated loops — covering life sciences and body systems, bridging pharmacology and pathology, disease mechanisms and clinical protocols, and finally supervised clinical practice — so that students develop clinical reasoning progressively from day one rather than as an isolated final-year shock. NVU's own university hospital provides students with hands-on patient exposure and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS). Alongside this, three research laboratories equipped with advanced biomedical technology support student inquiry and innovation. The library houses an extensive digital collection, including access to EBSCO, SAGE Journals, and rare medical texts. The campus itself sits in a green, modern setting in Tbilisi, with three hostel blocks offering separate facilities for male and female students. The mess provides daily Indian food options, a detail that consistently features in student testimonials as one of the primary reasons for feeling at home. Sports facilities, a gym, 24/7 CCTV coverage, banking access, and a medical centre round out the campus amenities. For Indian students specifically, NVU's recognition by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India makes graduates eligible to sit for the NExT (formerly FMGE) examination. The university's curriculum also supports preparation for international licensing examinations including USMLE, PLAB, and others. The admission process is straightforward — no entrance examination beyond NEET is required — and NVU charges no application or service fee. Tbilisi itself is an exciting student city, sitting at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, with a rich history, vibrant nightlife, natural hot springs, and affordable living. Indian students find the cost of living manageable, and the safety of the Georgian capital is consistently rated highly. For an aspiring physician looking to begin a serious, internationally recognised medical career without the financial burden of a Western education, New Vision University represents one of the most credible and complete packages available in Georgia today.
