Assam Medical College, located in Dibrugarh, is a historic public State Government Medical College. It holds the distinction of being the first medical college in Assam and the entire Northeast India region. Its legacy began in 1900 as the Berry White Medical School, founded by Sir John Berry White. It was officially upgraded and established as Assam Medical College on November 3, 1947.
