Georgia has emerged as one of the most compelling and fastest-growing MBBS abroad destinations for Indian students, and the reasons go well beyond cost. Positioned at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Georgia offers an MBBS education that combines European academic standards, modern university infrastructure, and full National Medical Commission (NMC) and World Health Organization (WHO) recognition, all at a total 6-year cost of ₹30–45 Lakhs. What sets Georgia apart from Central Asian alternatives is the quality of the clinical environment: Georgian teaching hospitals are modern, well-equipped institutions that provide a clinical training experience closer to what a student would expect in Europe than in Russia or Kazakhstan. The medium of instruction is English throughout, the visa process is among the simplest for Indian nationals anywhere in the world, and the country itself, a small, safe, extraordinarily beautiful Caucasian nation, consistently wins over Indian students and their families with its warmth, safety, and quality of life. For students who can invest slightly more and want a stronger clinical foundation and a European degree standard, Georgia is one of the most well-rounded choices AMW recommends.

Georgia is not the cheapest MBBS abroad option, and that is precisely the point. It delivers something different: European clinical standards, modern infrastructure, and a lifestyle that Indian students consistently rate among the most comfortable of any MBBS abroad destination.
Georgian teaching hospitals are modern, well-managed, and equipped to European standards. Clinical rotations from Year 3 expose students to a breadth and quality of patient care that closely mirrors the environment they will work in as doctors — whether in India or internationally.

This gives Georgia graduates a genuinely stronger international academic foundation than most other MBBS abroad destinations.
This is one of Georgia's most practical advantages. Indian nationals can enter Georgia visa-free for up to 365 days. The student residence permit process from within Georgia is simple, well-defined, and handled by AMW. There is no nerve-wracking embassy visa wait before departure.

Many Indian students in their second and third year move into private apartments, which are widely available in both cities for ₹8,000–16,000 per month. Tbilisi, in particular, has a well-developed rental market with affordable options close to university campuses.
Tbilisi has a genuinely good Indian food scene for a city of its size. Indian restaurants, Indian grocery stores, and student-run mess services all operate close to medical universities. Georgian cuisine itself, including khinkali dumplings, khachapuri flatbreads, bean and walnut dishes, and grilled meats, is hearty, flavourful, and generally well-liked by Indian students. Monthly food cost: ₹8,000–15,000 depending on whether students cook, use the mess, or eat out.
Tbilisi has a pleasant continental climate with warm summers (28–35°C) and mild winters (0°C to −5°C), with occasional snow. Batumi, on the Black Sea coast, is even milder year-round, with a subtropical climate, warm, humid summers, and very rare frost in winter. Both cities are far more forgiving of students accustomed to Indian weather than Russia or Kazakhstan.
Georgia is consistently ranked among the safest countries in Europe and Central Asia on global crime and safety indices. Tbilisi and Batumi are both safe, walkable, and friendly to foreigners, with low rates of violent crime. Indian students report a very strong sense of personal safety, and this is consistently cited by parents as one of the deciding factors in choosing Georgia.
Medical insurance is included in university fee packages. Students at Tbilisi universities have access to the affiliated hospital outpatient services. AMW also assists students in arranging supplemental insurance coverage for the full 6-year programme.
Georgia has excellent and affordable mobile data. Local SIM cards from Magti and Geocell are very inexpensive. High-speed Wi-Fi is available in hostels, universities, and virtually every café in Tbilisi. Flights from Delhi to Tbilisi operate via Dubai, Istanbul, or Baku, with total travel times of 6–9 hours. Air Arabia, Fly Dubai, and Turkish Airlines offer affordable options. Students can visit home comfortably during semester breaks.
