The Campus in Lucknow: Administrative Headquarters

ABVMU's main campus is located in Chak Ganjaria City, Lucknow. This serves primarily as the administrative and examination headquarters.

• Function: This is where the university's leadership (Vice-Chancellor, Registrar), examination control offices, affiliation management departments, and academic councils operate. It's the central hub for policy-making, exam coordination, and managing the vast network of colleges.

• Infrastructure: Being relatively new (functionally active since 2020-21), it features modern administrative buildings, meeting facilities, and potentially an auditorium, but it's not designed as a campus for thousands of undergraduate students attending daily lectures. 

Student Interaction: Most students interact with the main campus primarily through online portals for applications (CNET/CPET), examination forms, results, and degree processing, rather than physically attending classes there.

The Hospital Network: Affiliation is Key

ABVMU itself does not run its own large, central teaching hospital on the main Lucknow campus. Its healthcare delivery and training infrastructure consists of the entire network of hospitals attached to its affiliated colleges.

• Scope: This network includes virtually every major government medical college hospital (like those at KGMU, RMLIMS, GSVM, SNMC) and all private medical college hospitals, dental hospitals, and associated clinical facilities for nursing and paramedical training across Uttar Pradesh.

Training Ground: As a student, your hands-on clinical training, internships, and patient interaction happen exclusively at the hospital connected to the specific college you secure admission into through the state counselling process. ABVMU sets the academic standards and examination protocols for this training.

Living Arrangements: It's All About the College

ABVMU does not provide centralized hostel accommodation. Where you live depends entirely on the college you get into.

• College-Specific Hostels: Every affiliated institution – whether it's KGMU, RMLIMS, a district government medical college, or a private college – manages its own separate hostels for its students. 

• Facilities & Fees: The quality of rooms, mess food, hostel rules, security, and, importantly, the hostel and mess fees, are all determined and handled by the administration of that individual college. You'll pay these fees directly to your allotted college. Expect considerable variation between government and private institutions.

The Journey: Getting In & Moving Forward

• Admission Pathways:

• MBBS/BDS & MD/MS/MDS: Strictly via NEET-UG or NEET-PG/MDS ranks. The critical step is participating in the UP State Counselling conducted by the DGME, Uttar Pradesh.

• Nursing (B.Sc., PBBSc, M.Sc.): Solely based on your rank in the CNET, conducted by ABVMU, followed by ABVMU's own centralized online counselling.

• Paramedical Courses: Admission depends entirely on your rank in the CPET, conducted by ABVMU, followed by ABVMU's centralized online counselling.

• Career Support (Placements): ABVMU doesn't run a state-wide placement drive. Placement assistance is the responsibility of each individual affiliated college.

• Medical/Dental: Graduates typically pursue internships, PG entrances (NEET-PG/MDS), or join clinical practice/hospitals.

• Nursing/Paramedical: Placements depend heavily on the specific college's reputation and industry links. Reputed government and private colleges usually have placement cells that facilitate recruitment in hospitals and healthcare settings.
