General Information

The Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC) includes the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), which is located at the AMC location. It is one of the oldest and most respected medical schools in Europe, having been founded in 1632. The faculty is known for its research that has a big impact and a curriculum that puts a lot of emphasis on early clinical integration and scientific inquiry. The AMC (UvA) and VUmc (VU Amsterdam) hospitals merged to form the largest medical cluster in the Netherlands, which is where it works.

  • You will get a B.Sc. in Medicine (3 years) and an M.Sc. in Medicine (3 years). A total of six years to become a fully qualified doctor.
  • Language of Instruction: Dutch is the main language for the Master's and Bachelor's degrees. You can get a Master's or PhD in English that is based on research.
  • Accredited by the NVAO, WHO, and WFME.
  • Requirements for Admission:
  • Numerus Fixus: The number of people who can enter is very competitive, and there is a set number of spots available.
  • Language: You must be able to speak Dutch at the NT2 Level II level to get your medical degree.
