The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Casablanca (FMPC), affiliated with Hassan II University, is one of Morocco's oldest and most prestigious medical institutions. State University Affordability
As a public university, costs are heavily subsidized by the state:
Moroccan Students: Tuition is free. Annual registration fees are roughly 300 – 500 MAD.
International Students (AMCI Track): Most foreign students enter via the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI). Admitted students under this quota pay no tuition and may receive a monthly stipend.
Self-Funded International Students: For those outside the AMCI quota, fees are estimated at approximately $1,500 – $2,000 USD per year (subject to university council approval).
Vibe: Casablanca is a bustling, multicultural metropolis. It is the financial heart of Morocco, offering a fast-paced lifestyle and extensive cultural opportunities.
Transport: The Tramway is a reliable way to get around. Small red taxis are the most common form of quick transport for students.
Cost of Living: Casablanca is Morocco's most expensive city. A total monthly budget (excluding tuition) of 6,000 – 9,000 MAD is recommended.
Public Student Housing: Students can apply for the Cité Universitaire de Casablanca. Cost is very low (approx. 400 MAD/year), but spots are limited.
Private Housing: The Quartier des Hôpitaux, Maârif, and Mers Sultan are popular areas.
Shared Room: 2,500 – 4,000 MAD/month ($250 – $400 USD).
Private Studio: 4,500 – 6,500 MAD/month.
Dining: * University Canteen: Offers heavily subsidized meals.
Food Budget: Expect to spend 2,500 – 3,500 MAD/month on groceries and local dining.
Moroccan Applicants: Selection is based on high school grades (Seuil) followed by the Common National Entrance Exam in July.
International Applicants: 1. Application through the AMCI portal is required for most non-Moroccans. 2. Scientific Baccalaureate with high grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. 3. Portuguese/French language proficiency may be assessed.
