General Information

Established in 2020 (officially inaugurated during the COVID-19 pandemic), Government Medical College Kasaragod is the first government medical institution in the northernmost district of Kerala. It was established to provide tertiary healthcare to a region that historically relied on neighboring Mangaluru for advanced medical treatment. The college is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and operates under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Kerala.

  • Medical College Hospital (MCH): A 500-bed multi-specialty hospital is under construction at the Ukkinadka campus.

  • Interim Clinical Training: As per recent government orders, the General Hospital, Kasaragod (located ~27 km away) has been designated as the teaching hospital to meet clinical requirements.

  • OPD Services: A functional Out-Patient Department (OPD) at the Ukkinadka campus provides general and specialty consultations to the local community.

  • Diagnostics: Equipped with basic radiology (X-ray, Ultrasound) and laboratory services, with advanced diagnostic units (CT/MRI) being part of the expansion plan.
