The college is attached to its own large government hospital that serves as its primary teaching facility.

• Flagship Hospital: The Jhargram Government Medical College Hospital (an upgraded District Hospital) is the constituent teaching hospital, fully integrated with the medical college.

• Scale & Services: This is a major hospital for the district and surrounding tribal and rural areas.

• Capacity: A large hospital with 500+ beds.

• Services: Provides comprehensive healthcare services across all major clinical specialties, featuring 24x7 Emergency, Trauma, and Critical Care (ICUs), modern Operation Theatres, and advanced Diagnostic facilities.

Fee Structure: Government Subsidized

As a state government medical college, the fees are extremely low and set by the Government of West Bengal.

Campus Living: Hostel Facilities

• Cost: Hostel and mess fees are additional to the tuition fees but are highly economical.

Admissions Process: NEET & State Counselling (West Bengal)

• Getting Admitted (MBBS): Admission is strictly and exclusively based on qualifying ranks in NEET-UG.

• State Counselling is Key (West Bengal): Seat allotment is handled entirely through the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) centralized counselling process.

• 15% All India Quota (AIQ): Seats are filled through the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) counselling, open to students from all over India.

• 85% State Quota: Seats are reserved for students with West Bengal domicile and are filled through the WBMCC state counselling.

Career Pathways & Placements

• Career Path: As a government medical college, the career path for graduates is excellent.

• Internship: MBBS graduates complete a mandatory 1-year rotatory internship at the JGMCH Hospital, for which they receive a stipend as per state government norms.

• Bond: A mandatory 1-year rural service bond or penalty bond may apply, as is common with government colleges in West Bengal.

• Post-Graduation: Graduates will be eligible to appear for the NEET-PG exam to pursue postgraduate specialization (MD/MS) or can become Medical Officers in the state health service.
