Established in 1968 (initially as a nursing school and officially as a medical college in 1975), KUMS is the premier medical institution in western Iran. As a "Type I" university (the highest national designation), it is recognized by the WHO, ECFMG (Pathways), and the Iranian Ministry of Health.
