• Academic Blocks: Dedicated modern blocks for the medical college, featuring air-conditioned lecture theatres (5 halls) and advanced teaching facilities.

• Laboratories: Equipped with new, state-of-the-art labs for all pre-clinical and para-clinical departments (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, etc.) built to high NMC standards.

• Library: A large Central Library provides access to extensive medical collections and digital resources.

Residential Life: Extensive and separate hostel facilities are provided on campus for boys and girls (UGs and PGs).

The teaching hospital is the vital core of the institution.

• Flagship Hospital: The Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital (MMMCH) is the constituent teaching hospital, fully integrated with the medical college.

• Scale & Services: This is a major multi-specialty, tertiary care hospital serving the Solan region and neighboring areas of Punjab/Haryana.

• Capacity: A large hospital with 450+ teaching beds (reports of up to 750+ beds capacity are emerging).

• Services: Provides comprehensive tertiary care across all major clinical specialties, featuring 24x7 Emergency, Trauma, and Critical Care (ICUs), modern Operation Theatres, and advanced Diagnostic facilities (MRI, CT Scan, Cath Lab).

• Accreditations: The hospital holds NABH accreditation.

• Educational Engine: The MMMCH Hospital is the core clinical training ground for MBBS students and postgraduate residents, offering essential, high-volume patient exposure crucial for medical training.

Fee Structure: Regulated by Himachal Pradesh (HP-PERC)

As a private medical college in Himachal Pradesh, fees are substantial and are regulated by the HP Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission (HP-PERC). Admissions are managed via state counselling.

Campus Living: Hostel Facilities

• Accommodation: Separate hostel blocks are available for male and female students. Accommodation is compulsory for MBBS students (at least the first year).

• Amenities: Hostels are well-maintained, equipped with basic furnishings. AC and Non-AC room options are typically available.

• Dining: Mess facilities are available for all hostellers.

Cost: Hostel and mess fees are an additional annual expense. Costs are substantial, often ranging from ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,00,000 per year (all-inclusive), depending on AC/Non-AC and sharing.

Admissions Process: NEET & State Counselling (HP)

• Getting Admitted (MBBS/MD/MS): Admission is strictly and exclusively based on qualifying ranks in NEET-UG (for MBBS) or NEET-PG (for MD/MS).

• State Counselling is Key (HP): Seat allotment for all categories (State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota) is handled entirely through the Himachal Pradesh State Centralized Counselling Process. This is typically conducted by the HP University (HPU) or the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER), HP.

Career Pathways & Placements

• Career Path: As a private medical college, the career path for graduates is well-defined.

• Internship: MBBS graduates complete a mandatory 1-year rotatory internship at the MMMCH, for which they receive a stipend as per college/NMC norms.

• Bond: A course breakage bond may be required.

• Post-Graduation: The clinical exposure and the availability of 94 PG seats make graduates competitive for PG seats (via NEET-PG) or immediately employable as Medical Officers.
