General Information

The Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS), which opened in 1994, is Nepal's first private medical college and the main school of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG). It is widely thought to be the best medical school in Nepal for international students, especially those from India. It is connected to Kathmandu University (KU). The college has two state-of-the-art campuses in Pokhara, where world-class Manipal teaching takes place against a stunning Himalayan backdrop.

The Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH) is a well-known 750-bed tertiary care center in Western Nepal that offers a wide range of medical services.

  • 750+ Bed Capacity: A huge, 7-story building that gives students a lot of clinical experience in all major and super-specialty fields.
  • Super-Specialty Services: There are separate wings for Cardiology (with a Cath Lab), Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, and Oncology.
  • Advanced Critical Care has more than 50 dedicated ICU beds in its Medical, Surgical, Neuro, Pediatric (PICU), and Neonatal (NICU) units.
  • The Modern Diagnostic Wing has the only Linear Accelerator (LINAC) for radiotherapy in Western Nepal, as well as a 1.5 T MRI and a 128-slice CT scan.
