The Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR) is the first and sole medical college in Nagaland. It is a new Government Medical College established in 2023 (classes commenced) by the Government of Nagaland. NIMSR is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with Nagaland University.

The Vibe: Established in 2023, the Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR) is the first-ever medical college in the history of Nagaland. Located in Phriebagei, Kohima, the 120-acre campus is nestled in the lush green hills of the state capital. It offers a serene, academic-focused environment designed to provide a "center of excellence" for medical education and research in Northeast India.
Connectivity:
Air: Dimapur Airport (DMU) is the nearest domestic airport, approximately 70–75 km away (about a 2.5 to 3-hour drive via the hilly terrain).
Rail: Dimapur Railway Station is the primary railhead connecting Nagaland to the rest of India. It is roughly 74 km from the campus.
Road: The college is located in Phriebagei, Kohima, and is well-connected to the main city. It is accessible via the National Highway (NH-2/NH-29) which links Kohima to Dimapur and Manipur.
