Nilratan Sircar Medical College (NRS Medical College) is a premier, historic public State Government Medical College located in Kolkata, West Bengal. Its history is tied to the Sealdah Medical School (established in 1838) and the Calcutta Medical School, later becoming the Medical College, Sealdah (1948). It was finally renamed in 1950 to honor the eminent physician and freedom fighter Sir Nilratan Sircar.
The college is academically affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS), Kolkata, which is the state's governing university for all health science colleges. All degrees (MBBS, MD/MS) are awarded by WBUHS.
