• NIIMS Hospital: This is a functional hospital providing healthcare services to the community and serving as the primary teaching site. It features:

• Capacity: A growing bed strength (check current figures, often starting around 300-500+ beds for newer medical colleges).

• Services: OPDs across various specialties, IPD facilities, Emergency & Critical Care units (ICU), modern Operation Theatres, Labour Rooms, Diagnostic Labs (Pathology, Radiology), and a Blood Bank.

• Educational Role: NIIMS is crucial for the clinical training of NIU's MBBS students and likely serves as a practical training ground for students in Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences programs.

• Cost: Hostel and mess fees are a major additional annual cost. Depending on the room type (AC/Non-AC, sharing) and mess plan chosen, expect the combined expense to range roughly from ₹1,20,000 to ₹1,80,000 or more per year. Confirm the exact rates for different options during admission.

Admissions & Career Launch: The NIU Journey

• Getting Through the Door:

• NIU Entrance Test (NIUET): The university conducts its own entrance test (often online) called NSAT (NIU Scholarship & Admission Test) or similar for admission to many UG and PG programs (B.Tech, MBA, Law, BBA, BCA etc.). Performance in this test often determines admission and scholarship eligibility.

• National Scores Accepted: NIU readily accepts scores from major national entrance exams:

• MBBS: Strictly via NEET-UG rank + UP State Counselling (DGME) / MCC Counselling (for Deemed quota if applicable - Verify NIU's status: Private under State or Deemed).

• B.Tech: JEE (Main) scores are widely accepted.

• MBA: CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores are considered.

• Law: CLAT/LSAT scores are considered.

• B.Arch: NATA scores are required.

• Merit-Based: Some programs might offer admission based purely on merit in the qualifying exam (Class 12/Graduation).

• Career Kickstart (Placements): NIU has an active Corporate Resource Centre & Placement Cell focused on industry engagement and student placements.
