The Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) is a public, not-for-profit, independent medical school that was set up by an Act of the Parliament of Nepal in 2008. PAHS is located in Lagankhel, Lalitpur, which is next to Kathmandu. Its goal is to improve rural health by training healthcare workers who are "technically competent and socially responsible." It has a 6-year MBBS program, which is different from many other schools. Its Spiral Integrated Curriculum is well-known for going over medical ideas each year with more and more difficulty.
