Established in 1985, Islamic Azad University of Qom (IAU-Qom) was the first university in the Qom province and began accepting medical students in 1986. As part of the world’s largest private university system, the IAU-Qom College of Medicine is a highly regarded non-governmental institution. It is recognized by the WHO, ECFMG (Pathways), and the Iranian Ministry of Health. Since 2021, it has operated as an independent medical unit within the branch, offering a high-quality MD program. Its graduates consistently perform well in national residency entrance exams, making it a strong alternative to the state-run medical schools in the region.
The IAU-Qom medical campus provides a dedicated environment for both basic science and clinical training.
