The hospital is the largest tertiary care center in the state, directly under the institute's control.

• Flagship Hospital: The RIMS Hospital is the constituent teaching hospital, fully integrated with the institute.

• Scale & Services: This is the largest tertiary and super-specialty care referral hospital for the entire state of Jharkhand.

• Capacity: A massive hospital with 1,500+ beds (including specialized units like the Orthopaedics Block, Trauma Centre, and RIMS Super Specialty Hospital).

• Services: Provides comprehensive tertiary and super-specialty care across all clinical departments (Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Urology, Oncology, etc.). It features 24x7 Emergency, Trauma, and extensive Critical Care (ICUs), and modular Operation Theatres.

• Patient Load: The hospital handles an exceptionally high patient inflow, providing students with unparalleled clinical exposure, the institute's biggest strength.

Fee Structure: Government Subsidized (with Bond)

As a state government autonomous institution, the fees are extremely low, but tied to a mandatory service bond.

Campus Living: Hostel Facilities

• Dining: Mess facilities are available for all hostellers.

• Cost: Hostel and mess fees are additional to the tuition fees but are highly economical.

• Mess Charges (Monthly): Paid monthly based on actual expenses, typically ranging from ~₹3,500 to ₹4,500 per month.

Admissions Process: NEET & State Counselling (Jharkhand)

• Getting Admitted (MBBS/MD/MS): Admission is strictly and exclusively based on qualifying ranks in NEET-UG (for MBBS) or NEET-PG/SS (for MD/MS/DM/M.Ch).

• State Counselling is Key (Jharkhand): Seat allotment for all categories (State Quota and All India Quota) is handled entirely through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) centralized counselling process.

• 15% All India Quota (AIQ): Seats are filled through the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) counselling, open to students from all over India.

• 85% State Quota: Seats are reserved for students with Jharkhand domicile and are filled through the JCECEB state counselling.

Career Pathways & Placements

• Career Path: As a government medical college, the career path for graduates is excellent.

• Internship: MBBS graduates complete a mandatory 1-year rotatory internship at the RIMS Hospital, for which they receive a competitive stipend as per state government norms (approx. ₹26,000 - ₹35,000 per month).

• Bond: A mandatory service bond (e.g., 2 years) with a penalty clause applies to subsidized graduates.

• Post-Graduation: The extensive clinical exposure at RIMS makes graduates highly competitive for PG seats (via NEET-PG) or immediately employable as Medical Officers in the state health service.
