Established on November 1, 2021, Shija Academy of Health Sciences is the first homegrown private medical college in Northeast India. It operates under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with the Government of Manipur and is managed by Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI). The college is affiliated with Manipur University (some newer records also cite Dhanamanjuri University) and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
