The Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College (SDUMC), located in Tamaka, Kolar, is a distinguished Private Deemed-to-be University medical college. Established in 1986 by the Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust for Backward Classes, the institution was named after the former Chief Minister of Karnataka. It achieved Deemed University status in 2007 and is a constituent of the Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research (SDUAHER).

Hostel Fees (Annual): These are mandatory and vary by gender and block:
Men's Hostel (Freshers): Approx. ₹1,39,800/- per year (Includes Room Rent, Mess Advance, Laundry, etc.).
Women's Hostel (Freshers): Approx. ₹1,21,600/- per year (Includes Room Rent, Mess Advance, Laundry, etc.).
Deposit: A refundable ₹10,000/- is charged one-time.
Mess: Mess Advance is collected annually (approx. ₹50,950/- per year in the fees mentioned above) and provides hygienic meals.
Miscellaneous
NRI Seat Quota: Yes, SDUMC reserves a dedicated NRI Quota (approx. 30 seats). The fees are payable in US Dollars, and admission is through MCC counseling.
Admissions: All seats are filled via NEET-UG rank through MCC counseling (Deemed University quota).
Withdrawal Penalty: A severe penalty applies: If a candidate resigns after the MCC deadline and the seat cannot be re-allocated, they are liable to pay the entire 5 years' course fee.
PG Stipend: MD/MS residents receive a competitive stipend (starting around ₹30,000/- per month in the first year).
PG Bond: A ₹10,00,000/- (Ten Lakhs) penalty is applicable if the PG candidate defaults on the compulsory service bond.
