The Campus & Infrastructure

The Faculty of Health Sciences is spread across two campuses with cutting-edge facilities designed for simulation and clinical research.

• Bilbao Campus (DeustoBio & Deusto Psych):

• Virtual Hospital: A state-of-the-art simulation center featuring an Operating Theatre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ward rooms, and consulting rooms for clinical practice.

• Deusto Psych: A benchmark R&D&I unit with 700 m² of laboratories dedicated to Psychology and Health research.

• San Sebastian Campus (Larramendi Building):

A new 12,000 m² infrastructure housing modern labs specifically for Physiotherapy and Nursing students.

Healthcare Pillar: Clinical Training

The Faculty maintains strong ties with the Basque Health Service (Osakidetza) and several private health networks.

• Primary Partner Hospitals:

• Hospital de Basurto (Bilbao) – A major public university hospital.

• Hospital Universitario de Cruces – One of the largest and most specialized hospitals in the Basque Country.

Educational Model: Training integrates ethics, bioethics, and communication. Students engage in early clinical rotations and simulation-based learning to bridge the gap between theory and hospital wards.

Fee Structure and Costs (Estimated 2025/2026)

University fees are calculated per ECTS credit and vary by degree.

Note: For Medicine, the total cost per ECTS is approximately €289, leading to an annual fee (60 ECTS) of roughly €17,340.

Campus Living: Hostel & Dining

• Accommodation (Hostel):

• Deusto Hall of Residence: Owned by the Society of Jesus, located directly on the Bilbao campus.

• Partner Residences: Discounts are often available at private residences like Livensa Living or micampus Bilbao.

• Bilbao Youth Solidarity Housing: Offers low-rent flats for postgraduate students in exchange for 4 hours of weekly community service.

• Dining (Mess):

• Both the Bilbao and San Sebastian campuses feature university canteens offering fixed-price "menus of the day" (approx. €7–€10) as well as half-menu options.

Admissions Process

Admission to high-demand programs like Medicine is competitive and follows an internal selection process.

1. Application: Usually opens in early spring for the following September intake.

2. Selection Criteria:

• Academic Record: High school GPA (Baccalaureate) is a primary factor.

• Internal Test: Some programs require a specific admission test or personal interview.

3. Language Requirement: Non-native speakers must provide proof of Spanish proficiency (typically DELE B2). For the international tracks, English proficiency (IELTS 6.0+) is required.
