Founded in 1952, the University of L'Aquila (UNIVAQ) is the historic academic heart of the Abruzzo region. Following the 2009 earthquake, its medical school was completely revitalized, resulting in a state-of-the-art scientific hub in Coppito. UNIVAQ is known for its resilience and its high-tech integration of clinical and laboratory sciences. It is a public institution with degrees fully recognized across the EU and eligible for ECFMG certification in the USA.
