The Faculty of Medicine and Odontology at the Universitat de València (UV) is one of Spain’s most prestigious and historic centers for medical education, founded in the 15th century. It is located on the Blasco Ibáñez Campus, the university's central hub for health sciences, and is consistently ranked among the top medical schools in Spain for its academic rigor and high success rates in the national medical residency (MIR) exams.
The faculty is integrated into a specialized urban medical district, featuring world-class training facilities.
Clinical Simulation Center: A high-tech environment where students practice diagnostic and emergency procedures using high-fidelity mannequins before entering the hospital.
Integrated Labs: Advanced facilities for anatomy (dissection rooms), histology, and molecular biology.
Specialized Libraries: The Pelegrí Casanova Health Sciences Library offers one of the most complete biomedical collections in the Mediterranean.
Leading tertiary care hospital attached to the institution
Clinical training at UV is exceptional due to its network of four major tertiary university hospitals. Students are assigned to one hospital from their 3rd year through to the end of their degree.
Hospital Clínic Universitari de València: Located directly adjacent to the faculty; a global leader in high-complexity care.
Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe: One of the largest and most advanced hospitals in Europe.
Hospital General Universitari de València: Known for its strong tradition in surgery and general medicine.
Hospital Universitari Doctor Peset: Provides exposure to high-volume clinical cases and specialized research.
State University Affordability
As a public university, UV offers highly subsidized tuition fees for residents and EU citizens.
Note: Non-EU students from countries without a bilateral agreement pay approximately double the credit fee (€36/credit instead of €18/credit).
University Residences (Hostels):
Rector Peset Hall of Residence: A prestigious university-run residence in the city center.
Damià Bonet Residence Hall: Located right next to the health campus, offering studio apartments.
Private Housing: Many health students live in shared apartments in the Benimaclet or Blasco Ibáñez neighborhoods. A private room typically costs €350 – €500 per month.
Dining:
The campus features multiple university canteens offering a three-course "Menú del Día" for approximately €6.50 – €8.00.
Cut-off Score (Nota de Corte): For 2024/2025, the entry grade was 13.436 out of 14.0, one of the highest in Spain.
UNEDasiss: International students with foreign high school diplomas must process their validation and usually take the PCE exams in Biology and Chemistry to reach the required score.
Language Proficiency: While some subjects are in English, fluency in Spanish is mandatory for patient interaction and clinical exams from the 3rd year onwards.
