WUSOM follows a 2+2 model: two years of Basic Sciences in St. Kitts and two years of Clinical Sciences.

  • Basic Sciences (Sem 1-5): Completed on the St. Kitts campus. The 5th semester includes a specialized Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) and USMLE Step 1 preparation.
  • Clinical Clerkships (Sem 6-10): 72 weeks of rotations at ACGME-affiliated hospitals in the USA (notably in Illinois and Michigan) and Canada.
  • Local Partnership: Students also gain early clinical exposure at the Joseph N. France General Hospital in Basseterre.
